So, about that livestream...
It went great, actually! Had a little bit of a rough start, but things went pretty well and I enjoyed chatting with those of you who showed up. Then the week after was extremely busy and I only just found the time to post about it... a month later... haha....
WELL. Anyway.
I learned several useful things from that first livestream, which have definitely been influencing my planning going forward.
- I really enjoy streaming! I definitely want to keep doing it, and getting some more people to show up once I get a more stable schedule for it.
- The time slot I picked was not as good a choice for me as I thought it would be... I've been looking at Monday or Thursday instead, I think they may work better.
- While I like the idea of doing coding streams, it didn't actually... work out well for me. Keeping up chatting and all that while streaming was easy enough, but it turns out I can't do that and keep my train of thought when coding. Even when writing everything down as I go. Oops.
So... I'm not entirely sure what I want to keep doing for streams. I'm leaning a bit towards doing a sort of eclectic theme, where I just do Something Game Related every week - playing games, making art assets for games, writing for games, discussing game design, whatever. Maybe more game dev in the future that's less code and more debugging/testing. We'll see!
